- A middle aged man shocked a Bomet court on Tuesday morning after he admitted to raping and impregnating his daughter since she was sweater than the wife.

David Kiplangat Cheruiyot, a father of eight was accused of raping one of her daughters aged 17 and impregnating her on the 19^th of May 2009. He also faced a second charge of indecently touching her private parts.

The court was told that the accused tiptoed into the room where the children slept on several occasions and sexually abused the elder daughter. Even while she was pregnant, she still continued to abuse her.

The daughter told the court that the dad threatened her with a machete he always carried warning her of dire consequences if she disclosed their escapades to anyone. After delivering, a DNA test confirmed that the baby was her father’s.

Appearing before Bomet Senior Resident magistrate, Virginia Karanja, Cheruiyot pleaded guilty saying that the daughter was sweater that his own wife and however much he tried, he could not resist the temptation of having s*x with her.

Karanja sentenced him to 15 years in jail to deter other fathers with such behaviours.
